FLY CLASSIC MODIFIED 1/32
Idéa:
This class is for the fans of the great racing cars that participates in
LeMans and other great races in the 1966-71 period (FIA Group 4 & 6). Fly
has produced at lot of beautiful models of these cars in a lot of liveries, but
the technical quality of the cars has deteriorated through the years and today
it is sometimes impossible to race the cars when taken directly from its box.
Therefore we created this class which combines the great look of the
cars with useable racing parts to produce great racing fun.
At the same time we can use our technical skills and experiment and test
new ideas which often is impossible in current day racing classes. However it
is the basic spirit of the class, that the cars must look like scale models of
the real race cars.
Car rules:
Fly or GB Track 1/32 Classic models from1966-1971 period (list of
approved cars in app. 1 and 2).
Bodies must be original and painted like the original cars from the
period. Cockpit/driver, engine details etc. must be present. Leightweight
interiors are not allowed.
Chassis must be original Fly Classic, but modifications are allowed:
Race rules:
Are decided by the inviting club.
Besides the pure technical control, the scrutineers must also check if
eventual modifications has changed the cars scale appearence and may ask the
drivers to change eventual non-scale parts (wheels etc) before start. In
serious cases the scrutineers can decise that the car is not allowed to start.
App. 1: Fly/GB Track cars (Fly/GB Track numbers)
Special versions of above cars are allowed in true to scale paint job
(no crome, strange jubilee models, Playboy editions etc). The same applies for
repainted cars.
Above mentioned bodies must be mounted on a FLY/GB Track Classic
sidewinder chassis similar to the cars in App. 1.
Paint job, decals, cockpit/
driver, engine details, wheels etc must be comparable to the cars mentioned in
App. 1. In serious cases the race scutineers can declare a car non-starter due
to lack of scale appearence.
Lexan/PFTE Bodies and interiors are not allowed.
Only models mentioned in App. 1 and 2 are allowed. This list will be
revised as new potential models enters the market.
